McLaren Health Plan covers members for H1N1 & seasonal flu vaccines

Members of McLaren Health Plan are covered this flu season when they receive vaccinations against the H1N1 virus.
As the flu season gets underway in Michigan, McLaren Health Plan has announced it has extended coverage for those receiving vaccinations against H1N1 and will continue to provide coverage for seasonal flu vaccines.
“The H1N1 virus has many families concerned with the upcoming flu season,” said Kathy Kendall, president and CEO of McLaren Health Plan. “Providing coverage for flu immunizations helps alleviate this worry and prevents against the virus. It’s just one more way that McLaren shows it cares.”
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that certain groups of the population receive the 2009 H1N1 vaccine, including:
Pregnant women,
People who live with or care for children younger than 6 months old,
Healthcare and emergency medical services personnel,
Those between 6 months and 24 years old, and
People age 25 through 64 who are at higher risk for 2009 H1N1 because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems.
