How Do I Pay My Premium?

There are four ways you can pay your plan premium. You can:

  1. Pay by check or money order
  2. Set up auto withdrawal from your checking or savings account
  3. Pay online
  4. Have your plan premium taken out of your Social Security check

You should have selected how you wanted to pay your plan premium when you enrolled with McLaren Medicare. If you did not make a selection at that time, you will receive a monthly invoice and should pay by check. You can change your payment method at any time. Call Member Services at 833-358-2404 (TTY: 711) for assistance.

If you decide to change the way you pay your premium, it can take up to three months for your new payment method to take effect. While we are processing your request for a new payment method, you are responsible for making sure that your plan premium is paid on time.

Option 1: Pay by check or money order

You may pay your plan premium directly to our plan by check or money order. Checks should be made payable to McLaren Health Plan and not the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) or the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Be sure to include your Member ID number with your payment. Payments are due by the first of each month. Send your check or money order to:

Option 2: Pay by automatic withdrawal from your checking or savings account

You can have your monthly plan premium automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account. To set up automatic withdrawal, complete the form here or call Member Services at 833-358-2404 (TTY: 711). Once your automatic withdrawal is set up, we will automatically deduct your monthly plan premium from the account that you have designated. Deductions will happen on or about the first of each month. If you have questions, please call the MHP finance department at 810-733-9528 (TTY: 711), Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Option 3: Pay your premium online

You can pay your monthly plan premium online at https://pay.instamed.com/MCLAREN.MEDADV. You can also create an account or log-in to your existing account at https://www.mclarenhealthplan.org/mhp/mclaren-connect.

Option 4: Have your plan premium taken out of your monthly Social Security check

You can have the plan premium taken out of your monthly Social Security check. Contact Member Services at 833-358-2404 (TTY: 711) and tell them you want to pay your plan premium this way. We will be happy to help you set this up.
